"Flying Scotsman"

60103 / 4472

This page showcases my steam loco artwork.

Flying Scotsman was originally built 24th February 1923 and initially numbered 1472. It was designed by Sir Nigel Gresley as part of the A1 class for the LNER and was painted in apple green Apart from 1939 - 45 she was painted black and again for a short spell after after she took to the rails after an intensive multi million (£4.2 million) restoration.

By 1924 renumbered 4472 – and been given the name ‘Flying Scotsman’ after the London to Edinburgh rail service. 60103 is the number she carries on the smoke box door now.

All the loco artwork shown here has been painted using quality oil paints on 16inch X 12 inch stretched cotton canvas which has been well primed using gesso primer.

For sale - £120
