Steam Locomotives

A page of my steam locomotive paintings.

As mentioned elsewhere my paintings are painted using oils. Some of the early ones are acrylic paintings. Most are painted onto stretched canvas on wooden bearers, some of which I have hand stretched myself and all are double primed with art gesso. Some of the canvas I use is a very fine Italian weave. The brushes I use are mainly handmade ones by Rosemary and Co.

The paintings of the Battle of Britain class "Lord Beaverbrook" and the Nelson class loco in malachite green "Sir John Hawkins" paintings are 16 inches X 12 inches and are oil paintings on fine canvas on board.
